Hey friend!
If Disney World 2027 vacation planning has been on your mind, you are in exactly the right place, and I am so glad you’re here. There is truly nothing like the magic of those parks, and I am genuinely excited to help you get there.
Here’s the thing…right now, while we’re waiting for Disney to release 2027 packages, it’s actually the BEST time to start making a few key decisions. It is not necessary to have every detail figured out today. But the earlier you clarify your priorities, the smoother and more magical the entire planning process becomes.
There are three decisions I want to walk you through today:
- When do you want to go?
- Where do you want to stay?
- How will we secure your reservation the moment booking opens?
Let’s take them one at a time.
Decision #1: When Do You Want to Visit Walt Disney World?
One of the most Googled questions in the Disney world is, “When is the best time to go?”
And honestly? The answer is…it depends entirely on your family.
Some families define “best” as the lowest crowds. Some care most about mild weather. Others want longer park hours, special seasonal events, or they need to work around school schedules and budgets. The reality is that there isn’t a single ideal week that fulfills all requirements, and striving to meet someone else’s expectations can lead to disappointment.
Here’s what I mean. A few years ago, I had two families reach out around the same time, both asking me when they should go to Disney. The first family—a couple with a toddler and a newborn—wanted mild weather above everything else. We landed on late January, and it was absolutely perfect for them. There were manageable crowds, cool temperatures, and no conflicts with school schedules. The second family had older kids with packed school and sports schedules, and extended family flying in from three different states. For them, summer was the only window that worked…period. Was it hot? Yes. Were there crowds? Of course. Did they have the time of their lives? Absolutely. Because it was the right trip for THEIR family, not someone else’s itinerary.
So instead of asking, “when is the best time,” I want you to start with YOUR calendar. Ask yourself:
- When will it absolutely not work for our family?
- Are you comfortable taking kids out of school, or does that stress you out?
- Do you prefer cooler weather, even if it means visiting in a slower season?
- Are holiday decorations or special events, like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival, on your wish list?
Here’s something important to keep in mind: Disney uses dynamic pricing. As resort availability fills up, rates go up. Locking in your dates early doesn’t just protect your sanity…it also protects your investment.
And as I shared in my last post about why now is the time to start planning, all it takes is a $200 fully refundable deposit to lock in your dates and pricing. So if you’re even a maybe on a 2027 trip, there’s no reason to wait.

Decision #2: Which Disney Resort Is Right for Your Family?
Did you know Walt Disney World has more than 30 on-site resorts? And that’s not even counting the off-site options!
They range from value-friendly options with incredible theming to Deluxe properties where you can watch giraffes wander past your balcony with your morning coffee. Each resort has its own personality, transportation access, pool situation, dining, and overall vibe.
The “best” resort is simply the one that fits your family. PERIOD.
I’ll be honest with you — my first Disney trip with my daughter Madison was at Port Orleans Riverside. Although I didn’t initially choose Port Orleans Riverside, our budget and availability led us to this location. And you know what? Madison got a princess room with a light-up headboard and thought she had died and gone to heaven. I came home obsessed with that resort. What I thought was a compromise turned out to be exactly right for that season of our lives. Now I’ve stayed at and recommended resorts across every tier, and what I’ve learned is that there’s magic to be found everywhere. My job is to help you find the magic that matches YOUR family and vibe.
When we’re narrowing down your resort options, here’s what we’ll think through together:
- Your overall vacation investment
- How many people are traveling, and what room configuration do you need
- Transportation preferences—do you want monorail access? Skyliner? Is the park within walking distance?
- Pool and recreation priorities…because Stormalong Bay at Beach Club hits different than a standard hotel pool
- Dining access and what’s within walking distance
- Proximity to the park or parks you’re most excited about
Disney groups its resorts into three main categories—Value, Moderate, and Deluxe—and each offers a genuinely different experience. I’ve put together a free 2027 Disney Resort Guide that breaks down my top picks in each tier with honest notes on who each resort is really best for. If you haven’t grabbed it yet, go get it—it’s a great starting point for this decision without listing off all of the resorts! 🌙

Decision #3: How Will We Secure Your Reservation on Release Day?
Once Disney announces that 2027 packages are officially available, things move fast. And I mean fast.
Here’s how I work: the moment packages drop, I start processing holds and proposals in the order they were received on my waitlist. That means having your details ready ahead of time is genuinely important—not just a nice-to-have.
To put a hold on your trip efficiently, I’ll need:
- The names of everyone traveling and birthdates
- Your exact travel dates (or a top choice with a backup)
- Your top resort choice…or a short list if you’re deciding between a few
If your dates or resort are flexible, I can also put together a comparison proposal with up to three options so you can see them side by side before we commit.
One of my favorite examples of release day done right: I had a family of five who’d been on my waitlist for months. They’d done the work ahead of time—dates locked, resort preference clear, everyone’s names ready. The moment the new packages opened, I had their hold placed within the first hour. Then Disney released a “Stay More, Save More” promotion, and because they’d booked early at a Deluxe resort, they qualified. They ended up with a 7-night stay at a price that would have made your jaw drop. That’s the power of being prepared AND being early.
The key takeaway here: The more we narrow it down before release day, the faster I can secure your reservation, and the better your chances of getting your first-choice resort at the best available price.
If you’re still figuring out the budget piece, that’s completely okay. I can give you guidance on average seasonal pricing so you can see what aligns with your family’s goals before we ever commit to anything.

Why This Planning Phase Actually Matters
I know it can feel a little strange to be making decisions before packages are even available. But here’s the thing—by the time booking opens, you won’t be scrambling.
You’ll already know:
- When you want to travel
- Where you want to stay
- What investment range feels right for your family
- What experiences matter most to you
That preparation is what lets you exhale. And once your reservation is secured, I will monitor your booking for any applicable Disney promotions or discounts. If a special offer drops that applies to your dates and resort, I handle the adjustment—you don’t have to do a thing except wait for my happy email telling you that you just saved money. 🎉
You can move forward knowing you locked in a strong value from day one. That’s what I’m here for.
